Are First Impressions Really Enough? – Writing Prompt

What’s the first impression I want to give people? Well, if I were to answer that question quickly, I’d say I’d like to appear kind with an interesting life, and more confident than I actually am. But if I were to answer it truthfully… I don’t like first impressions. I never act like my true self in the first meeting, sometimes even in the second meeting. It takes me a bit to get comfortable with people and show my true self; a weird, hyper human with multiple hobbies, shifting between every emotion based on those around me, with a brain capacity of 99% or 1% no in between. Just like a cat with zoomies. So no, first impressions aren’t enough for me. Everyone hides who they really are upon first meeting someone. It’s within the next few meetings that someone really starts to shed their shield to reveal their true personality.
