All Hell Breaks Loose 2024

I don’t know if any of my readers are Supernatural fans, but I definitely am! So when my friend told me about a Supernatural convention in Melbourne I bought the tickets straight away. Besides, a trip to Melbourne with a friend was exactly what I needed to get away from recent work stress.

Black Chevrolet Impala

We thought we were getting to the event early but I guess that’s what everyone else was thinking too. Trust me, there was a LINE. I knew there would be but I guess I didn’t expect it to be reaching all the way out of the building. Anyway, I kind of liked that we were outside for so long because guess what was parked out the front… the Impala! We took a bunch of photos while waiting and just got to know the people around us. Everyone here was so friendly and nice!

Many people sitting in front of a stage

We were all filed into the massive auditorium behind the gigantic screens and listened to all the information for the day. I was kind of bummed that we didn’t get to see all the merch laid out before we were seated, especially because a lot had already sold out by lunchtime when we could actually look. But that’s ok.

Anyway, I’m sure you’re not here for all the boring information so I’ll get to it. We finally got to buy the tickets for whoever we wanted photos with. My ticket already included a photo with Jared and Jensen so bonus! Photos took forever so they showed a few favourite episodes on the screens while we were waiting. It was actually really amazing being in a room with people who have the same interests as me. The atmosphere was insane. If you know me, you know I can’t really go to my favourite music concerts because of my epilepsy, so this was just like experiencing that, well sort of. Everyone laughed at the same jokes, everyone was dead silent during the suspense. Everyone just felt so connected to each other even though we’ve never met before. We’re all strangers but we all know each other, because we were all the same.

Finally, our row was called for photos. I was so nervous because I knew that I would have these photos for years and years. I wanted to look good in them. Plus we were actually getting to meet the actors on the show so obviously I’m going to be shaky. But everyone was like this. There was this girl I met who had been to many supernatural conventions before, so she was clearly used to it. But she was talking to me in line and calming me down. She wasn’t even trying, but she was just hyping me up, making me excited instead of nervous, and telling me how good I was going to look in the photos because of my outfit. So, it was my turn for photos. As soon as I saw the actors, I was just so happy to be meeting them in real life that all of the nerves just melted away and all I could feel was joy. Also, Jared called me sweetie so. That did something for the nerves as well as the ego.

While we were waiting for the rest of the crowd to get their photos we finally had a look at all the merch. Well, there wasn’t all that much anyway. We thought that there would be more official Supernatural merch but there wasn’t really. Don’t get me wrong though, they had some really cute stuff! I was looking at this one stand when the owner was talking to another customer. I saw her pulling out a more unique item from her boxes to the customer, asking if they were into a more “edgy” style. Of course my ears perked up. I saw her holding a rainbow pin with the name “Destiel”. The customer said “nah” and walked away but the owner saw how interested I was in it. “Do you want it?” I immediately pulled out my wallet and said yes, not caring about the price. I love how she knew I’d love it just from the look on my face. There were also some really cool items up for auction, but sadly, I did not have the money for anything like that.

Lastly, the celebrity Q and A and auctions. I’ve never been to anything like this. I’ve never met celebrities face to face. I’ve never seen an interview live. And I’ve never seen someone running around, doing star jumps and push-ups just to get a shirt all sweaty to sell at an auction. The actors were hilarious together. Once again the atmosphere of the crowd just added so much to what we were watching and listening to on stage. Jared and Jensen are honestly like brothers even outside of the show, and we could really see that from their Q and A. I also found the shirt auctions really cool, especially to witness. The celebrities were given a shirt to draw whatever they wanted on, and then they were auctioned off to the crowd. Honestly, I was happy to just sit and watch this one, considering the price was going up and up to amounts of money I don’t even have in my account. They were sold for thousands of dollars! But it was really cool that all of the money made in these auctions went to charity.

This whole convention experience was amazing, I’m definitely going to more in the future. I never really thought I would enjoy something like this, but when the opportunity came up for a Supernatural convention, I was straight there! See you in Melbourne next year All Hell Breaks Loose 13!
